The Girl, The Gold Tooth and Everything

The title is jam-packed with ideas, and yes, this was one reason why I'v read the book. At the start, it seemed there were different factors playing, what with the amnesia, the absentee husband, and a child the protagonist has no single memory of getting pregnant with and giving birth to.

Different emotions would tug at you for the complexity of Mina's, the protagonist, state. I could somehow put myself in her shoe with the difficulty she is coping with, plus the people around her who seemed to know everything about her, but somehow, unwilling to give her any clue as to who she was and how this came to be. According to her therapist, giving too much information about her past and what happened to her would blow things out of proportion and would eventually lead to her losing it all together. In other words, she might go nuts.

With Mina eventually getting a gold crown on her tooth, things would inexplicably take on a sudden turn of events. Without knowing how or why, she got hold of some interesting tapes that would lead her to piece things together from her past, with the help of her imagination and a little bit of snooping around. As she gains control of her situation, she would come to realize that betrayal would be the only thing that's keeping her out of the light, and that people are not who they say they are.

With full of riveting events and a fast-paced plot, The Girl, The Gold Tooth and Everything is a hearty read.
