Rascal's Chant

tippy toes
on creaking floors
be careful with your treading
upon the wall
the shadows crawl
gently, with your breathing
hush hush now
don't utter a sound
lest they come out chasing
silence is
what silence does
the voices lost from hearing
make haste on
before the dawn
the light comes slowly creeping
to cast upon
o'er mountains yon
our covers lost from searching
quick and nimble
ne'er you dwindle
we shan't be caught on sneaking
run and hide
make speedy your stride
for light is soon a-peeping
acquire what you must
quick wit, you trust
to bring all of your taking
leave none behind
for clues to find
or our mischief, they'll be discerning
