The Devil's Star

A young woman was found dead in her flat, with a severed finger and a five-pointed star inserted in one of her eyes. Heading the investigation is Crime Squad's infamous Harry Hole, and partnered with his archenemy, Tom Waaler. However hesitant Harry is to take over the case, he has no choice as his job is hanging on the line.

Working together with Waaler, he tries to solve the case but trying to watch his back, as well. As a series of deaths erupt with the only clue left behind, a pentagram, the Devil's star, Oslo is threatened that there might be a serial killer on the loose.

As the victims and suspects unfold, Harry makes a last-minute and startling discovery that would impact a sudden turn of events and at last stumble upon the evading answers.

Definitely a page-turner - my mind was boggled by the mystery wrapped in the story. As an avid fan of crime stories, I was trying to solve the case myself, but failed to, all because of the ingenuity of how Jo Nesbo orchestrated the story. I loved every bit the book.
